To create a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment where every individual takes responsibility for ensuring equitable access to quality life through safe drinking water, proper sanitation facilities, and effective hygiene practices.

Mission:

To enhance the quality of life for residents by providing sustainable, safe drinking water and sanitation services. We aim to promote hygienic practices that are both accessible and affordable, ensuring they meet the needs and choices of the community.

Active Government Schemes:

The department is actively engaged in two major government initiatives aimed at improving water and sanitation infrastructure in Morigaon District:

1. Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM):

This ambitious initiative aims to provide Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) to every rural household in Morigaon, ensuring that all residents have access to safe, clean, and reliable drinking water directly through household taps.

2. Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) \[SBM-G]:

Focused on rural sanitation, SBM-G works to make the district Open Defecation Free (ODF) by promoting access to and use of safe sanitation facilities. This mission also includes implementing systems for solid and liquid waste management, ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for rural communities.
